Winter Activity Guide



  • Aspen Mountain (AJAX) – The Silver Queen Gondola is located in the center of town and shuttle’s skiers/snowboarders to the top of 76 challenging trails.
  • Buttermilk – Excellent learning mountain for someone who has never stepped foot on snow or just needs a tune-up.
  • Aspen Highlands – 118 trails of moderate to expert terrain. Features roughly a 45 minute hike to the ‘highlands bowl’, some of Aspen’s steepest most challenging terrain.
  • Snowmass – With its vast 3,100 acre layout, Snowmass Mountain is a great place to bring an entire family of different level skiers/snowboarders.
  • Lift Tickets – A lift ticket is valid for all four mountains. Pricing available upon request and discounts available for multi-day purchase.
  • Equipment Rentals – Contact your In Town Aspen team for details.
  • First Tracks – Accompany a pro from the school of Aspen on a tour of Aspen or Snowmass before it opens to the public. Reservations necessary.
  • Ski School – Group and/or private instruction available on all four mountains. Contact your In Town Aspen team for details.
  • Powder Tours – Tour Aspen’s backcountry powder via snowcat.
  • Transportation to/from ski resorts available upon request.



  • Fly-fishing – Have an expert guide navigate you through Aspen area’s trout filled waters.
  • Hot Air Ballooning – Float above Aspen at either Dawn or Dusk while enjoying the taste of champagne and pastries.
  • Dog Sled Rides – Tour Snowmass Mountain’s backcountry on a 1 or 2 person sled pulled by trained Alaskan huskies. Half or full day trips available and include a gourmet meal at Krabloonik restaurant.
  • Ice-skating – Choose from the outdoor or indoor rink.
  • Paragliding – Launch from the peak of Aspen or Snowmass Mountain and soar high over the rockies.
  • Sleigh Rides – Take a sleigh deep into the woods to a log cabin for lunch or dinner.
  • Snowmobiling – Tour the famous Maroon Bells on a private snowmobile tour.
  • Snowshoeing – Arrange a backcountry snowshoe tour to experience the scenic views of Aspen/Snowmass while burning calories.
  • Cross Country Skiing – Circle the Aspen public golf course for exercise or take a scenic tour through Aspen area’s meadows and valleys including the infamous Ashcroft ghost town.
  • Museums – Enjoy some of Aspen’s culturally diverse fine arts including the Aspen Art Museum or the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies.
  • Touring – Explore the sights and History of Aspen either by walking tour or carriage ride.
