Summer Activity Guide



  • Aspen Golf Course – Aspen’s only public course featuring a driving range, practice area, rental clubs, shoes, and carts. Open from May until late October (weather permitting).
  • Ironbridge Golf Course – Designed by famous architect Arthur Hills, this 7,224 yard par 72 course is located 45 minutes from downtown Aspen and runs along the roaring fork river.
  • River Valley Ranch Golf Course – Just down the road from Ironbridge, River Valley is a 18-hole championship course featuring rye grass fairways and bent grass greens.
  • Snowmass Golf Course – Located just outside of snowmass, this private course features a full service pro shop, rental clubs, a driving range, and PGA clinics. Tee times for non-members can be made 3 days in advance after 12pm.



  • Hot Air Ballooning – Float above Aspen at either Dawn or Dusk while enjoying the taste of champagne and pastries.
  • Paragliding – Launch from the peak of Aspen or Snowmass mountain and soar high over the rockies.
  • River Rafting – Choose from a full or half day trip on the Roaring Fork or Arkansas River.
  • Shooting – Shoot at skeet, trap, and sport targets during individual instruction programs or free shooting.



  • Biking – Explore Aspen’s unique trails via bike either by guided tour or on your own.
  • Fly-fishing – Have an expert guide navigate you through Aspen area’s trout filled waters.
  • Hiking – Venture through the Valley’s scenic mountain range either on your own or by guided tour.
  • Horseback Riding – Tour the mountain range western style.
  • Tennis – Hard and Clay courts available. Reservations necessary.



  • Aspen Historical Society – Enrich yourself in Aspen’s historic values through a downtown walking tour.
  • Carriage Rides – Rides available from 1:30pm – 10pm.
  • Colorado Wine Tour – Experience a taste of Napa Valley in the Rockies. Spend a day tasting and touring the vineyards of Paonia, Co, including a visit to North America’s highest vineyard.
  • Jeep Tours – Take an off road jeep tour through the mountain wilderness.
  • Mine tours – Learn the history behind Aspen Silver Mining by exploring Smuggler and Compromise mine.
  • Museums – Peruse through a few of Aspen’s culturally diverse fine art museums.
